Skiing in Mayrhofen

Mayrhofen offers a wide range of ski pistes for all levels: from beginners to experienced skiers to experts. Skiers and snowboarders are sure to find the right trail for them – the conditions are perfect for a fantastic Winter holiday on the slopes. The ski resort of Mayrhofen comprises the Ahorn, Penken, Rastkogel and Eggalm slopes with a total of 157 km of pistes and 49 lift facilities. The Burton Fun Park also offers an additional attraction for snowboarders.

The Penken ski resort for sporty skiers

The Penken ski resort is linked with the Finkenberger Penken, Horberg-Gerent area and Rastkogel/Tux resorts. There are 2 large lifts in operation: the Penkenbahn which runs directly from Mayrhofen and the new Horbergbahn (8 seater) in Schwendau. Pistes of all difficulty ratings are available and average to experienced skiers in particular will find varied ski terrains to suit their requirements here! Broad carving areas, steep challenging slopes, powder runs etc are all on offer. A particular highlight is the descent down the Harakiri, Austria’s steepest ski piste. And the 27 restaurants and mountain huts at the resort are the perfect place to enjoy a snack and a drink.

The family-friendly Ahorn ski resort

The ski resort of Ahorn lies opposite Penken and is ideal for families and beginners with its gentle slopes and clear layout. Ahorn also offers a special family-friendly feature: the ‘Sunkid’, a conveyor lift for children on the snow. Snow is guaranteed on the 5.5 km long Ahorn valley descent thanks to modern snow-making facilities, making this the most popular descent in the Zillertal valley among good skiers.
